Three Expectations to Be Champion Strong
1. Always Do Your Best
The best preparation for tomorrow is doing your best today. To be Champion Strong, we must always do the best we can, with what we have, where we are. When you are in class, be in class. School work is more important than football. We are not a football vocational school. Players are here to earn a GREAT education. Football is a privilege our players earn through hard work and success in the classroom. Smart, aware, critical-thinkers make EXCEPTIONAL football players.
2. Always Do What Is Right
Doing what is right is simply about self-discipline. Each day, we are presented with choices; some are big and some are small. No matter the magnitude, the decisions we make affect our life and those of the people around us. Members of our football program must ask themselves the following question when faced with any choice:
"Will this make me a better person, a better student, or a better athlete?”
If the answer is yes, that is the disciplined choice and will lead to success. If the answer is no, that is the undisciplined choice and will lead to failure. As Lou Holtz said, “Without self-discipline, success is impossible, period.”
3. Always Treat Others As You Want To Be Treated
Respect is all about treating others the way you would want to be treated, at all times, and in all situations. Treat people the way you want them to treat you because, ultimately, the way that you treat people will determine the way that they treat you in return. Specifically, respecting our opponents will prevent us from underestimating them.
